About Laurelwood Youth Ministries
Our Mission
Our mission and desire are for the youth to become lifelong followers of Jesus who worship God, love others and serve the world. We seek to partner with parents, families, and our church to nurture the holistic growth of young people. Through the involvement of their talents, they can share the gospel and build relationships that will have an eternal impact.
How We Serve
Every other Saturday we carry out our Adventist Youth program, or otherwise known as "AY", which tailors to our young children, adolescence, young adults and those young at heart. The youth department helps develop programs to support and mentor young people. The team works in close cooperation with our NJ Conference youth leaders to find relevant ways to encourage and train youth as they help their communities, study the Bible, and find healing and hope in Jesus in the process. The presence of our church as a whole during these programs & events go a long way with our church youth by bringing emotional support and encouragement. These actions result in welcoming more to participate while bringing them one step closer to Christ.
Leadership & Team Development
Our leadership for these two years has two great church members running this department with care and attention. They carry out programs with the focus of including all youth no matter the age with the end goal of coming to a finish where Christ is the center of it all. The Youth Ministries team has leaders that not only know what it is to have children of their own but also push their children to participate and are active in our Adventurers and Pathfinders Clubs. The youth of the Seventh-day Adventist Church are valued not just as its future but as incredibly important current community members.
Achievement & Goals
This year along we have been blessed with the baptism of four youth members which we are extremely proud of! Along with church elders, leaders, and their parents, the goal of getting our youth closer to God has been our priority. Time and time again it's been proven that our young people have the desire to fill a gap that the world can't fulfill. But they forget that the Lord of Savior is waiting for them with open arms, willing to pour the fire of the Holy Spirit for anyone that opens their heart and embraces it. So, if you're reading this, "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12 NKJV
